At Austin Sunshine Camps, we are looking for innovative, hard-working, radical change-makers who want to build a community, rooted in compassion, that is wildly creative and FUN!
At ASC, you will probably work the hardest you’ve worked in your life and make better friends and memories than you can imagine.
We are firmly committed to personal and professional growth for each member of our team. That relationship begins in January and continues for a lifetime.
We can’t wait for you to join us this summer!
Austin Sunshine Camps is committed to providing safe, in-person programming for campers in summer 2021. We are working this fall diligently to prepare our facilities, procedures, and policies in order to ensure that campers, staff, and families feel confident in a safe, fun experience at camp in 2021. With that being said, before applying to a position to ASC for summer 2021, it’s important for you to be aware of the following things:
All in-person camp programming will take place at our Zilker Lodge during summer 2021, with limited camper capacity. The first half of the summer will be campers aged 11-15, and the second half of the summer will be campers aged 8-10. Counselors may choose to apply for the term that allows them to work with the ages of campers they would prefer, or can choose to apply for the whole summer.
All in-person camp dates (and related trainings) for 2021 are TENTATIVE. We will communicate frequently and openly about any changes.
If necessary, summer staff should be prepared to self-quarantine before camp arrival, take a COVID test upon arrival at camp, wear masks during camp activities, daily temperature checks, remain on camp property during breaks, and any other safety policies that will be put in place before summer 2021. We will communicate frequently and openly about all of these things as summer approaches.
At Austin Sunshine Camps, we focus on building community, fostering creativity, and building compassion across lines of difference, and we can’t do this work without having healthy campers. The Camp Health Officer is the most crucial player in ensuring our kids stay healthy for their week at camp! This role has developed an increasing importance in the era of COVID-19, and will be a crucial part of the team that ensures safety and wellness for all campers and staff.
