Summer Camp

Our 2019 Summer Camp application IS NOW OPEN!  Please click here to complete your application online. A paper application in English can be downloaded here and a paper application in Spanish can be downloaded here.

You may also visit our office Monday – Friday between 10a-4p to pick up an application. We are located at 2225 Andrew Zilker Road, Austin, TX 78746.  

Complete applications will be read on a first come, first serve basis.  Applications will not be considered complete until all forms are submitted under the “Forms” tab.  Our staff will contact you within three weeks of the date you submit your complete application regarding your child’s admittance into summer camp.  If you have any questions, please email us at or call us at 512-472-8107.

About Camp

Austin Sunshine Camps has provided free fun-filled overnight summer camp programs for the children of the greater Austin  area (Travis, Williamson, Caldwell, Hays and Bastrop counties) since 1928. All summer camp programs are provided free of charge for all campers who meet the 2018-2019 free or reduced school meals income eligibility guidelinesEach camp session brings campers together for five days and four nights of exciting outdoor activities including canoeing, hiking, swimming, science, nature, cooking, arts & crafts, ropes course, and team building activities. Transportation to camp is available on the first day only. However, transportation is limited and is on a first come, first serve basis. In addition, campers are provided three meals and two snacks a day.

Furthermore, by attending Austin Sunshine Camps, campers take home increased self-confidence, leadership abilities, better problem-solving skills, and friendships that last a lifetime. Campers learn to resolve conflicts, value diversity, and to share in the success of the group. Fun becomes the foundation on which courage, self-respect, cooperation, and leadership are built.

Zilker Camp

Our Zilker Park camp is located inside Zilker Park near Barton Springs Pool; it serves campers 8 – 11 years of age. The camp program, under the supervision of experienced counselors, offers activities such as swimming in Barton Springs or Deep Eddy pool, canoeing, arts and crafts, nature study, hikes, games, and a ropes course with a variety of elements including a team wall and trust fall. Click Here to view our Zilker Camp photo gallery.

Lake Travis Camp

Our Lake Travis camp is located on Lake Travis between Lago Vista and Marble Falls; it serves campers 12 – 15 years of age. The camp program, under the supervision of experienced counselors, offers activities such as swimming in Lake Travis, canoeing, arts and crafts, nature study, hikes, games, archery and high ropes course with a variety of elements including a climbing wall and zip line.
