The Young Men’s Business League was founded in 1913, and the YMBL owns and operates the Austin Sunshine Camps. We are volunteer-driven, depending on the energy and talents of the YMBL for fundraising, facilities development, and board governance. All community volunteers are welcome. Our annual budget of $300,000+ is comprised of contributions from hundreds of individuals, foundations and businesses. We are a registered 501(c)6 not-for-profit. We invite you to join us by contributing to our proven programs for youths who are the future of our community. Membership

The YMBL, founded in 1913, is one of the oldest and most respected social service organizations in Austin. It enables men to grow professionally by working with others toward a common MISSION: To provide programs for deserving children in Austin and the surrounding area, which aid in their professional development and teach the skills necessary to succeed in school and in life. In short, we are a non-profit, non-political organization, dedicated to taking the risk out of Austin’s at-risk youth.

Lunches

Lunches are the best way to learn about the Young Men's Business League and the Austin Sunshine Camps. Starting January, 2006, lunches are held at noon on the first and third Wednesday of the month at the Headliners Club, 20th Floor of the Chase Bank Building (formerly the Bank One Tower ) , 6th and Colorado . There are no lunches in June, July, or August, but there are events at the camps. The lunches always feature top-notch speakers from the business, civic, community, sports and non-profit arenas,and provide excellent networking opportunities. Special Events

Special events provide the majority of funds that the YMBL uses to operate the Austin Sunshine Camps. The events are volunteer driven, and they are put on by large committees so that everyone can help out. These are our four special events:

YMBL Social Activities

While the main mission of the YMBL is to provide the funding and volunteer energy for the Austin Sunshine Camps, we also like to relax and have fun. Members receive regular e-mails alerting them to happy hours, group outings, road trips, concerts, sporting events and more. And whether it’s one of the many official events with the Young Women’s Alliance or just a night out with a group of friends, the YMBL men enjoy taking advantage of Austin ’s vibrant social scene.
