Volunteer

The Austin Sunshine Camps’ are always in need of volunteers. Whether it’s canoeing with campers and assisting with carnival night in the summer or participating as a mentor and tutor in our Leadership Program, your skills and desire to help are very much appreciated.

The primary volunteer base for the Sunshine Camps comes from the men of the Young Men’s Business League (YMBL) of Austin. In addition to the YMBL volunteers, members of the following organizations and businesses regularly volunteer:

  • Schlotzsky’s
  • Young Women’s Alliance (YWA)

To find out more about how you or your organization can volunteer with the Austin Sunshine Camps please contact Chris Honeycutt or Margaret Marucci.

Leadership Program Tutors / Mentors

We’re in need of tutors for our Leadership program. We have 39 middle and high school students who meet every Wednesday during the school year for assistance and tutoring in academic subjects, SAT preparation courses, school projects, etc. We have 12 nights of tutoring this fall. We need at least 5-7 tutors each Wednesday evening. Please think about volunteering for one (or more) nights. You don't have to commit to every week.

To find out more about being a tutor/mentor please contact Lou Meyer.
